Despite its relatively short history, the band has made an impact on the Ontario Highland Games competition circuit. In 2003 the band divided into two for competition purposes, with one in Grade V and the other in the more challenging Grade IV. Outside competition, the band continues to play as an ensemble. Members are strongly encouraged to compete in solo events. Most do so, at various levels, with great success. |
The Grand Celtic Pipe Band would like to thank the Township of Centre Wellington for its generous support of the band in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and again in 2011. This continual support from the local township means a great deal to the band.
The Grand Celtic Pipe Band wishes to thank Branch 275 (Fergus) of the Royal Canadian Legion for its generous support of our programs every year from 2005 though 2008.
The Band also thanks Branch #233 (Colonel Fitzgerald; Orangeville) of the Royal Canadian Legion for its financial support in 2007.
The Grand Celtic Pipe Band acknowledges the financial support in 2002 of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, an agency of the Ministry of Culture. With $100 Million in annual funding from Ontario's Charity Casino Initiative, the fund provides grants to eligible charity and not-for-profit organizations in the arts, culture, sports, recreation, environment, and social service sectors.
